A pressure sphere capable to withstand average ocean depth is difficult to build. The steel sphere on the right image is only 2m diameter. A crew can stay inside that space only for a few hours at most. This brings up the need of a mothership with a big crane to take the minisub on board after dive and give the crew a rest a meal and a shower.
A autonomous sub needs a living space of at least 120 cubic meter to accomodate the needs of the crew for a 1 month trip without a mothership. Spheres of at least 5m diameter are necessary. You can not build that in steel (no facility to do that exists on the planet).
But you can build spheres of unlimited size and wall thickness in concrete.
This opens a window for a deep diving submarine at affordable cost that can reach average ocean bottom worldwide with no need for the assistance of a mothership.
It's a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more enjoyable for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a designer to create your theme? Fantastic work!
Hey what a brilliant post I have come across and believe me I have been searching out for this similar kind of post for past a week and hardly came across this. Thank you very much and will look for more postings from you.
