I agree with you that content is very important. I can also recommend you to use fewer effects, and select good music for your videos.
Which software do you use for video production? Maybe you should try another one?

I tried to use e Final Cut Pro, Adobe, and other popular programs that bloggers use to edit their videos. Now I work with Movavi Video editor plus - URL. It's a quite simple video editor with professional visual effects from movavi's effects store.
