It is an advanced version of the conventional thin-film evaporator, designed to provide higher heat transfer rates, reduced fouling, and improved product quality. The ATFE consists of a cylindrical evaporator body with a rotor inside it. The rotor has blades attached to it, which agitate the product inside the evaporator and form a thin film on the heated surface of the evaporator body. This thin film enhances the heat transfer rate between the product and the heating surface, which results in faster evaporation and reduced residence time. The product is continuously fed into the evaporator, and the concentrated product and distillate are collected separately at the end.
