Due to a tendon/navicular bone problem in my left leg, my orthopedist recommends that I wear shoes with good arch support. For her, it means: 1) A rigid back of the sole, 2) Lacing and 3) A well-defined support area of the arch of the foot on the insole. For many years I have rowed in minimalist shoes with five toes, and I really liked them, but obviously they violate all her criteria. There are a lot of shoes that meet these criteria, but, as a rule, these are walking/running shoes with a fair amount of cushion, which I hope to avoid. Does anyone out there use "erotic shoes" that would fit me here?
Thanks for all the good recommendations in the thread. This might help me advise my grandparents if they get similar problems. Also, this might not be relevant for the OP but might help the people suffering from bunions. Please, pay attention to specialized shoe collections that are designed or consider people with bunions. Wearing regular shoes can contribute to the worsening of the disease. They put pressure on the bunion and therefore exaggerate the inward motion of the big toe. That's why it's important to choose shoes that will help avoid pain and prevent the disease from worsening.
