What are the really affordable options in New York? I received several offers from some highly paid movers, and most of them were ridiculously high fixed rates for small studio furniture. I'm trying to make less than $300 and I'm totally willing to rent a Uhaul, but I'm not sure if there are any services where I can just hire a few people to help move things in and out of the truck, instead of renting people and a truck from the same company, and I'm not I doubt that I am being cheated and resold supplies and stuff. Does anyone know of any super affordable universal services or services where I can just hire a few guys to drive with me from point A to point B and take things off the truck?

Hi, you are interested in options only from New York, am I right? It seems that prices have risen everywhere now, so this was to be expected from people engaged in cargo transportation. I can advise you just to use the service that I use myself. You can read a hand about it here yourself, but I think you won't find a better option for such a good price of their services. You can also post an ad about it on Facebook and wait for interested people to respond themselves.
