The problem with programming the garage door opener

I have a stock GT-R. 2011 year of release. After several attempts, I failed to successfully program the garage door opener. I'm having problems at the stage where you have to hold down the home button and the hand controller for 80 seconds until the slow flash turns into a fast flash. The problem here is that the slow flash stopped flashing after about 50 seconds. Nothing else will happen. I'm pretty much lost at the moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The year of the opener determines which devices it can interface with.
