Scottish structural steel fabrication and erection contractor, J & D Pierce, has awarded the contract to supply six cranes for its Glengarnock facility in Ayrshire, Scotland to KonecranesUK.
The contract is worth nearly GBP 100,000 (USD 161,124) and is to be delivered in October this year.
The contract includes five 5t and one 10t Konecranes CXTS single girder overhead cranes. Three cranes will operate in each of two bays spanning 17.3m. The cranes will have thermal protection of all motors along with other features such as DynADrive inverter variable speed control on cross and long travel motions and dual speed hoists, Konecranes stated.
In addition, the company says that the cranes are equipped with festooned cross travel conductors, Koneductor enclosed long travel conductors in each bay, ControlPro condition monitors on each hoist and Konecranes Remox radio control with back up pendants. The cranes are all equipped with limit switches on each motion.
