The world wide web is replete with various products that claim to cure acne. Unfortunately, many don't realize that there are many medications that contain many harmful ingredients that cause acne or other side-effects they don't want. Following is a list of some of the top offenders.

 

First, corticosteroids have become increasingly popular and actually cause acne. They are simulated hormones that work well at treating allergic reactions like eczema. Though lithium is great to calm one's nerves, as well as aiding the communicative properties between the brain's synapses, it also results in acne. Other treatments are available in treating depression or bipolar disorder, you can ask your doctor for those to avoid acne.

 

Finally - avoid DHEA (Dehydropiandrosterone) if you're looking to cure acne. This is a hormone prescribed to fight against the effects of aging. It is also classified as a steroid, and again causes acne. DHEA converts to testosterone by the metabolism, and leads to clogged pores. Clogged pores, of course, are a leading cause of acne formation. There are other solutions to fighting the effects of aging that may be worth looking into.

 

The market is full of various types of prescription and over-the-counter meds, creams and lotions all designed to cure acne. Nonetheless, by using these drugs or drugs that contain these ingredients, curing your acne can become insurmountable. On the one hand, you'd be treating the acne, on the other hand you'd be giving your body what it needs to cause the acne problem in the first place.
