Anupam Industries won the contracts to supply thermal power projects in Bihar and Bhavnagar, both in India, for Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), and intends them to be commissioned by March 2013.

For the thermal power plant in Bhavnagar, two cranes with 28.2m spans will be manufactured and installed. Each has a main hook lift height of 29m and an auxiliary hook that lifts to a maximum height of 34.3m.

The second contract to supply the Barauni Thermal Power Plant in Bihar requires more advanced cranes that feature hydraulically operated storm/parking brakes. These two cranes each span 28.4m and have main hook lift heights of 25.5m with auxiliary hook lift heights of 30.5m.

“BHEL has been our prestigious customer for more than 15 years,” said Anupam contracts director B D Basu. “We have inculcated this trust with BHEL by providing optimised lifting solutions that ensure higher uptime and lower cost of ownership. And this trust is further strengthened with new contracts from BHEL.
