In our present generation, various things have been created to ensure that man is able to live comfortably in society. In terms of living comfortably in the society, things have been made easier for him to do. Unlike in the previous generations where man has to struggle to do things, technology has ensured that man can do various things with little effort and at a fast rate. Bicycles were created to aid man from moving from one place to another. It ensured that man could move from one place to another by simply pedaling the bicycling. As time whirled by balance bicycles were created, not for movement, but to ensure balance and steering.
Balance Pre Bikes
A balance bicycle, which is also known as a pre bicycle is a bicycle used for training. It is a bicycle that is basically used to train children and help them learn steering and balance. The balance bicycle does not have any pedals and drive train. Balance bikes are usually created from wood and metal. The bicycle can be designed to have pedals, but other parts that would have made the pedals to function well would be removed. There are even some balance bicycles that are created with brakes.
For a balance bicycle to function well, it must be small enough to enable the rider to walk the bicycle while he comfortably sits in the saddle. While doing this, the writer would have both feet placed flat on the ground. The rider walks the bicycle while he stands over the saddle and afterwards saddles it while he sits. From thence, the rider would feel comfortable to run and scoot during the process of riding the bicycle. And he would also be able to raise his feet off the ground and ride the bicycle while he balances on the 2 wheels.
It has been said by makers of balance bicycles that children could learn how to ride a bicycle faster due to that they had firstly learnt to balance and counter steer and finally to pedal. It was further stated that training wheels reduces the pace of learning as children begin to depend a lot on them and would lead to them having bad habits. It has been revealed by pediatricians that there are no evidences that children are able to learn to ride bicycles faster without the aid of training wheels. Training wheels not only help to prevent bicycles from leaning but also prevent counter steering. Using a tricycle to learn how to ride by children would result into them turning handlebars wrongly. If training wheels are not adjusted rightly, they will become ahitch to learning bicycle. This is because the bicycle is prevented from leaning as a result of being too low. This in turn could affect braking when excessive weight is removed from the rear wheel by low training wheels.
Conclusion
When training wheels are adjusted correctly and raised higher as the skill of children increases, these problems would be avoided.
