Drying wood in boiler room. Bad or good idea?

Been tinkering in the garage for years, but over the last year or so, decided to create a “real” shop and take my hobby to a higher level. And going broke in the process. Haha. Been buying big box store wood, but want to start harvesting and milling my own. Both, for fun and to save $. I live upstate NY so there are an abundance of tress. Both in the woods and at our local tree-guy’s yard. I have a boiler room next to my shop. It’s dry and very warm all year long as I use it for heat in the winter and hot water in the summer. Is this a good place to dry wood planks, small logs and bowl blanks?

Turning your garage into a proper shop is a big step, but it's so rewarding. And hey, going broke for a hobby is a rite of passage, right? 😄

As for drying wood, your boiler room could be a great spot. It's dry and warm, which is perfect for speeding up the drying process. Plus, having it right next to your shop is super convenient.
