Faulty Sofa from DFS
Permalink

I purchased a sofa from DFS and when it was finally delivered it was faulty. I having been chasing them for a repair since April but they keep say they are waiting for the part to be delivered (the recliner mechanism doesn’t work). This is not a timely repair which they are supposed to give and I have had enough. I don’t know what I can do. I want my money back but cant afford to be left with no sofa as it took from October- April for it to arrive originally! Any ideas.

It is a really bad service delivered by DFS. If a company sells any product, services or repairing must be an important part of their terms and conditions. But in your situation the company has not fulfilled their conditions and you are still waiting for their repair. You should have to take legal action against this company who is responsible for delivering damaged sofas.

What worked for me was digging through the warranty or purchase terms—sometimes there’s something about refunds or replacements if repairs take too long. When the company wasn’t getting back to me, I ended up filing a complaint through a consumer rights group, and that finally got their attention.
If you’re over the whole DFS thing and thinking about a new sofa, maybe check out some  Elegant Furniture UK options online. I’ve had better luck with places that are upfront about their delivery times and actually care about sorting issues quickly.
