Con la tierra sobrepoblada, los arquitectos vanguardistas exploran opciones flotantes y sumergidas

 

Por otro lado, se espera que la actividad inmobiliaria en la próxima década se acerque mucho al agua, no tanto a las profundidades, pero sí sobre la superficie o adyacente a tierra firme.

De acuerdo a Jeff Davis, autor del blog Waterlog especializado en negocios marítimos, hay una creciente ola de arquitectos que construyen casas flotantes.

Si el calentamiento global eleva el nivel del mar en los próximos 50 años, no hay problema, simplemente hay que rodear las ciudades (como Nueva York) o países (como Holanda) en riesgo con plataformas marinas ancladas en el fondo marino.

El diseñador holandés Koen Olthuis encabeza esta nueva ingeniería. Su firma, Waterstudio, es la primera en dedicarse enteramente a estructuras flotantes –casas, garages, edificios habitacionales- y ha sido contratada por el Príncipe de Dubai para construir una mezquita flotante donde los multimillonarios petroleros puedan rezar en su camino a Hydropolis.
