This rare film shows a mini submarine developed by the Aerojet Corporation in the early 1950s. It was electric powered. The submarine caught the attention of budding director/producer Roger Corman. He obtained the company's enthusiastic permission to use one of the subs in return for on-screen promotion. The result was his first solo production, Monster From the Ocean Floor (1954). This footage was probably shot in the vicinity of Catalina Island.
