This incredible floating holiday island could be the tourist hotspot of the future.
Entirely powered by solar energy, this exclusive 'resort' has all the luxuries required for the perfect holiday, from pools and rooms with an underwater view of exotic marine life to a marina and heliport.
The futuristic design is so mind-blowing the Maldives is even in talks with creator Michele Puzzolante, from MPD Designs, about making the island a reality - despite a hefty price tag of £145million.
Scroll down to take a video tour of the island...
Highs and lows: The floating pod would offer great views both above and below the surface of the water
Luxurious lifestyle: The pods would rely entirely on solar energy to power lights and even the engine to drive the 'island' to different areas
Set on a floating pontoon, the holiday pods will include two luxurious bedrooms, a sun terrace, plunge pool with a view and a show-stopping underwater room looking out over coral and colourful fish swimming in the Indian Ocean.
There is even a steering wheel and motor in case guests fancy changing their setting.
The island nation of the Maldives - where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently holidaying - will be hardest hit area if climate change continues, as its picture-perfect atolls are just 6m above sea level.
Home from home: The Solar Floating Island has all the modcons the wealthy traveller needs on holiday
Suite dreams: The bedrooms have a Jacuzzi-style bath set by the huge bed and views out to sea
The floating solar islands have been touted as a way for the Maldives to continue developing it tourism industry in the face of rising sea levels.
Both hotels and larger resorts can be developed, linking a variety of pods together to form a huge floating area for tourists.
Puzzolante's designs include bars and restaurants, a spa, mini airports and heliports for guest access and even an underwater bar and nightclub.
Room with a view: The whole pod would boast spectacular scenery beyond the many windows
All at sea: If climate change causes sea levels to rise, the Maldives could lose its atolls, but these floating islands would rise and fall with the sea
The world on water: The government in the Maldives is looking at commissioning the pod hotels to further develop its tourism industry
The resorts could be entirely powered by solar energy, with panels hidden inside the fibreglass exterior of the pods and converting sunlight into energy.
The various parts of the resorts could also be created in a factory and delivered in pieces so they can be built on site in an Ikea style.
Puzzolante believes the Solar Floating Islands could be an addition to beachfront hotels around the world, taking them from a five-star offering to an exclusive seven-star experience. Luxurious suites and villas could also be added to any complex to make it more desirable.
If you’re looking to power more than one device, consider adding a battery backup. This will allow you to use your solar panel during the day and then transfer stored energy back into the grid when it is dark and you have to find best hybrid inverters in Pakistan to get more output easily. Some batteries can even provide enough power to run small appliances like fans or televisions.

I recently used eDreams to book a flight for my upcoming vacation and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. At first, I was a bit skeptical about using an online travel agency, but after reading some positive reviews and doing some research, I decided to give it a try. And I'm glad I did! Now, I know there are some concerns about whether is eDreams legit or not, but based on my experience, I can confidently say that it is. I received my confirmation email and e-ticket within minutes of booking, and everything was accurate and in order. The website was easy to navigate and the booking process was straightforward. I was able to compare prices and choose the best option for my budget. I also appreciated the fact that eDreams offered a variety of payment options, including PayPal, which made the transaction more secure. One thing that stood out to me was the customer service. I had a question about my booking and I was able to reach a representative quickly through the live chat feature. They were friendly and helpful, and I felt like my concerns were addressed promptly.
