Why is my Wi-Fi slow on my laptop only?

How can I fix the slow WiFi speed on my laptop?
1. Boost your Wi-Fi signal
2. Place your laptop near the router
3. Shut down programs or devices that consume large bandwidth
4. Restart your device and router
5. Update driver software
6. Make sure no energy saving settings are imposed on the wireless card
7. Reset router configuration to factory default
8. Check if your devices are connected to the same band
9. Start thinking about investing in a new WiFi card

I thought wifi working slowly on the laptop was a problem only I faced, however, this apparently isn't the case. I just wanted some information on The Importance of Technology in Education - DashTech, but my Wifi is dead slow. However, wifi on my phone is pretty fast, I just can't figure out the problem!
