Welding some boiler tubes
Permalink

Been doing some welding on a power station outage doing a full superheater replacement, around 9'000 welds for the entire job, almost all ER80S-B2 or ER90S-B3 Cro-Moly and some carbon steel, everything TIG welded and NDT with Gamma.

I wouldn't imagine it's very fun when you have to be a contortionist.

This was one thing I hated at my job, that's why I was so excited when I finally retired. I don't even want to see boilers anymore. I've worked as a boiler repairman for years, I got sick of it. Now, I don't even want to repair my boiler if it breaks. I always call someone to help me, even though my wife gets angry about this. But I swear, for me, this job was no fun. I don't know if you guys enjoy it, I'm very happy for you, but I'm incredibly happy I got my pension. Now I can live in the countryside, with no worry in sight. Life without repairing boilers is good, man.
