aircraft Adhesives uses and applications

Purpose of adhesives in aircraft and for what kind of materials those can be used. Are these safe and reliable to use as compared to sealants? If anyone has better knowledge and experience, then please explain.

Lots of sealants in the industry, one of the more popular ones is ea9394 which is designed for composite repair. Put simply, adhesives are used to bond two or more surfaces together, sealants are used to seal gaps and joints to prevent air and moisture from entering the aircraft.
