An explosion proof version of the Yale Global King electric wire rope hoist is now available, intended for use for Division 2, Class 1—groups B, C and D— applications.
New York-based material handling equipment manufacturer Columbus McKinnon said that new explosion proof version of the Global King hoist can include features such as explosion-proof rated motors, metal clad electrical cable and sealed fittings along with special enclosures and intrinsically safe control stations.
The explosion proof hoist models are available in a variety of capacities as both under-hung and top-running trolley versions, the company added.
This time last year Columbus McKinnon announced that it was adding new features and design improvements to its Lodestar Electric Chain Hoist for easier maintenance. The company said the overload clutch would, from December 2011, be located outside the transmission, and provide easier access for maintenance service people.
