Le Touquet - Avgas Truck ??

Many of you will have noticed that for about the past 8-9 weeks Le Touquet has had a NOTAM saying Fuel only available using a TOTAL card - and that the Avgas Truck is U/S.

I've visited 4 - 5 times in the last 8 weeks and was told "no Avgas - the truck is u/s"

However was there on Sunday - and saw the Avgas truck drive from its parking spot near the (TOTAL) fuel pump - and then refuel a German registered Piper Apache twin on the ramp next to me.

I tried to speak to the driver - but his English / my French led to zero meaningful communications.

What's going on?
Is the truck u/s or not?
Is the truck available to some visitors - but not to others?
Is it due to a lack of drivers for the truck? (Though last Sunday was August 21st - right in the middle of French holiday season)


Does anyone know the (true) story - and can we brits ever look forward to being able to refuel there (without a Total Card) ??

I've been having to leave pax behind because I needed to carry enough fuel for both out and return with contingency fuel. If I could have relied on getting fuel - I could have taken an extra one / (perhaps two) people?

My French isn't good enough to phone and get a reliable answer.
