Just trying to think through the requirement in ADB and 9999 to provide at least two MOE from a storey which has an area set out for the consumption of food and drink and which is ancillary to the main use of the storey.
2.16 of ADB additionally requires that the MOE should lead direct to a storey exit and not via a kitchen or area of high fire hazard

16.3.8 of 9999 is the same but insists that the MOE should not be via the rest of the storey.

First off, why the special attention on consumption of food and drink which is ancillary to the main use of the building?

Secondly, what is the interpretation of ‘lead direct to a storey exit”? Is that effectively what 9999 is saying?

It seems like the requirement in ADB and 9999 regarding Means of Escape (MOE) from areas designated for the consumption of food and drink is aimed at ensuring the safety of occupants in case of a fire or other emergency. These areas, being ancillary to the main use of the building, may have different risks and challenges compared to other parts of the building, hence the need for specific guidelines.

When it comes to food and drink, everyone's got their preferences and go-to's. One thing I've been really into lately is using organic celery powder as a seasoning. It adds a nice savory flavor to dishes without the hassle of chopping up celery.  As for drinks, I'm a big fan of keeping it simple with water most of the time. Staying hydrated is key, ya know? But I also like to mix it up with some herbal teas or a nice cold brew coffee on occasion. When it comes to food, I try to keep it balanced with lots of veggies, lean proteins, and whole grains. But hey, I'm also not one to say no to a good slice of pizza or a burger now and then. It's all about balance, right?
