I live in private rented accommodation, on my floor there are five apartments , a new tenant has put up a ring door bell on there door which is the nearest one to the communal door we all use to get to our apartments, every time we walk past the light turns blue , so guess they get a warning to there phones that someone is leaving or entering the floor , is this against our privacy? Why should they no who is coming and leaving ,I’ve spoken to the landlord and they say it’s not a problem as we have CCTV on the floor , but that is only seen by the landlord, I hate Going out now as I no I’m being watched and the person has been notified that I’m out / in , any advice on this please
Like you said, I don’t sit there watching the footage all the time—there’s no need unless something happens. It's nice to have the peace of mind, though. I did pass by a few houses with doorbell cameras where the door is right next to the street, and it didn’t bother me at all. Honestly, I think CCTV is pretty common these days. I’ve also been looking at the Doorbell Camera Pro from Vivint.com. It seems to have some cool features like clearer video quality and better motion detection. Not sure if I’ll make the switch yet, but I think it’s worth considering. I know laws and privacy concerns are important too, so I always try to be aware of that.
