Refrigerated trucks are vehicles that utilizes a refrigeration unit in order to keep the temperature low inside the transportation area. These units can also draw quite a bit of electricity, as they must maintain the load at the desired temperature at all times and during lengthy operating periods. His energy consumption depends on parameters such as size, insulation of the cargo area, external temperature, etc. In most cases the unit that does the refrigeration requires power of between 10 to 20 horse power or 7.5 to 15 kilowatts of power. Contrary to perhaps larger commercial refrigerated trucks, freezer truck for rent do consume a good amount of energy particularly during long distance transport.
