Best Jean Style/Look for Short Plus Size?

I've been living in leggings all winter.  I've gained a few extra lbs and really need to get some new blue jeans.  My old jeans are slim/skinny jeans, but I'd like to move away from that style.

I really don't even know where I need to start.  Looking on line, the models are all short/petite but tiny.  I'm 5'1" and a size 10. And old. Ha.  What looks good on you young, thin, size 4 gals most assuredly will not look good on me!

What style do you think would look best on short plus size?  Brand recommendations would be helpful, too.  I know I'll need to go in store to try on for best fit, but having a starting point would be helpful.

I've had good luck finding comfy, well-fitting jean shorts through Fashion Finds. The variety is great, and I've spotted some flattering styles with stretch that don’t ride up. I especially look for a mid-thigh length with a relaxed leg, and there have been plenty of options that check those boxes.
