Could Consumption Mutual Funds Be the Next Disruptive SIP Opportunity?

Hey folks,
I’ve been following disruptive and thematic investments for a while now and recently came across something that really got me thinking—Consumption mutual fund strategies, especially the AXIS Consumption Fund. I'm curious to hear your thoughts about this niche but growing investment trend.

From what I’ve learned, Consumption mutual funds focus on companies that benefit directly from consumer spending habits—think FMCG, lifestyle, automotive, digital retail, etc. With India’s rising middle-class population and spending power, this sector looks promising for long-term investors.

Now coming to the AXIS Consumption Fund, it seems like one of the more structured and focused funds in this category. I checked out the latest axis consumption fund nav and its performance looks fairly strong when compared to other thematic or sectoral mutual funds. While it's important to keep in mind that past performance isn't a guarantee, the trend is still worth noting.

I’m already running a few SIP investments in large-cap and balanced funds, but I'm now considering adding a consumption-based fund to my portfolio for sectoral exposure. Some experts suggest that thematic SIPs could be among the Best SIP options for strategic diversification, provided you’re willing to stay invested for at least 3–5 years.

Here are a few things I’d love to discuss with the community:

  • Has anyone here already invested in the AXIS Consumption Fund?
  • What’s your opinion on using a Consumption mutual fund as a SIP route for long-term wealth creation?
  • How reliable is the axis consumption fund nav when judging its consistency?
  • Do you consider this a disruptive trend or just another short-term theme?

This forum is full of sharp investment minds, and I’d really value your take. Whether you're bullish or skeptical, let’s get a real conversation going about the future of consumption-driven funds in modern portfolios.

Looking forward to your thoughts!
